Who has the better party? Dick and Ryan or Carson?

Looks like the battle for best televised New Year’s Eve party is heating up.  We had previously reported on both Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin Eve with Ryan Seacrest and NBC New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly.  Well, now, both shows are furiously working to add additional talent.

Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin Eve has just announced the addition of the Jonas Brothers, country star Taylor Swift, and Lionel Richie to the line up in Times Square, New York. And, as previously announced, Natasha Bedingfield, Fall Out Boy, Jesse McCartney, Ne-Yo, Pussycat Dolls, Solange and Robin Thicke will perform during the Hollywood Party segments, which will be hosted by Fergie.

Not to be outdone, Carson Daly has added rap star T.I. to his guestlist.  T.I.’s latest album debuted at #1 and featured two hit singles “Whatever You Like” and “Live Your Life.” And, as previously announced, Katy Perry and Ludacris are also performing.  No word on whether 50 Cent is still on the bill or not.  Helping with the live reporting from Times Square will be Saturday “Today” co-anchor Amy Robach and NBC News correspondent Luke Russert.

So, are we in an all out war?  We’ll have to see who pulls in the better ratings…  To us, Dick Clark still seems to have the edge.

Hmmm… Looks like Entertainment Tonight has also jumped into the Carson Daly vs. Ryan Seacrest New Year’s Eve debate with their own story at http://www.etonline.com/news/2008/12/68667/

They quote Carson Daly as saying, “I don’t think the night is competitive. This is a night really through the numbers — we all read them — that Mr. Clark has pretty much owned. This is his real estate. This is [executive producer] David Friedman and me going to the network six years ago and saying, ‘Let’s jump in this game.”

Remember, we posted it first! :)

What else is new for new year? The T.V. should stay on, staying home and eating… I'm not used to too much fire crackers, but one or two before midnight is ok! These stars you can catch them on other T.V. networks but not live maybe. For sure there are alot of new year television party shows! Talking about the T.V. ratings, who would not believe that people are infront of their T.V. when it's new year's eve. It's night anyway, nobody's out anymore! These shows will then rate!
