A New Year’s Night at the Museum – Guggenheim, New York City
The Daily News is reporting that the art-exhibit, turned hotel room at the Guggenheim Museum in New York is curently up for auction for New Year’s Eve. (It’s 52 day run is currently completely sold out.) Here’s some details:
Artist Carsten Höller’s fully functioning hotel room is part of the exhibition called theanyspacewhatever that comprises installations by 10 contemporary artists. It runs until Jan. 7.
Overnight guests pay – or someone pays for them – for the privilege of participating. The cost to stay in “The Revolving Hotel Room” runs from $259 to $799 per night, and guests can walk the corridors freely with a security guard. …
The room is on display to the public by day, but each night two guests can “check in” at 6:30 p.m., climb between the black silk sheets and claim the museum as their own until “check out” at 8:30 a.m.
All 52 nights are sold out, apart from a special auction for New Year’s Eve.
So, if you want a special New Year’s Eve night, this might be just the thing to look into!
