Keeping New Year’s Resolutions
No discussion of New Year’s Eve can be complete without talking about those dreaded New Years resolutions. People always ask you, “So, have any New Year’s resolution?” And, yes, we always do have something: Lose weight. Find a new job. Exercise more. Spend more time with family and friends.
It will probably come as no surprise that January is the single biggest month for new membership enrollment at health clubs, according to the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association. And by February, most people are already skipping the gym and feeling bad for spending all that money and not going to the gym enough.
Whatever your resolution(s) may be, they’re often very hard to keep. So, what can you do to make your resolutions stick?
The Huffington Post just posteda new story, “How to stick to your New Year’s resolutions – 12 tips” which offers some advice. They make some good recommendations, which include: being specific, writing resolutions down, reviewing them, holding yourself accountable, asking for help, not giving up, and several others. It’s a good article, and while it may still be hard to keep your resolutions, half the battle is just to say that you tried.
