Classic Rockers Ringing in New Years Eve at the Falls – Niagra Falls, Canada

The Niagra Falls Review is reporting that Supertramp’s Roger Hodgson, Kim Mitchell along with young country singer Justin Hines will headline the annual free New Year’s Eve concert at Queen Victoria Park. The show will be broadcast across Canada from 11pm to 12:30am.  The paper reports:

Mitchell had a strong run in the ’80s with Canadian rock hits like “Go For Soda,” “Patio Lanterns” and “Rock and Roll Duty.” Hodgson, meanwhile, was the voice on Supertramp classic ’70s albums like “Breakfast in America” and “Crime of the Century.” The long list of hits include “Bloody Well Right,” “Give a Little Bit” and “Logical Song.”

“New Year’s Eve is one of Niagara Falls’ busiest and best nights of the year,” said Commission chairman Jim Williams in a statement.

Salci says the national spotlight on New Year’s Eve is too important to lose.

“We think it has terrific spin-off impact for businesses and for our city,” he says. “We’re becoming one of the New Year’s focal points on TV.”
